BOB & SHARON GLAZEBROOK

Bob and Sharon Glazebrook have been married for forty-five years and live in Greenville, South Carolina. Although Bob hails from California, by the grace of God, he had the opportunity to play professional football for the Atlanta Falcons, which is how he came to know Christ, and to know Sharon.

Their story, from the beginning, was marked by death, as they lost the man who brought them to Christ in a plane crash, so many decades ago. The Lord brought them to Greenville, SC, where Bob attended a small Bible college and their four children attended a small, Christian school.

But little did they know that the Lord would call them deeper into the valley when their daughter, Rachel Ruth, after falling asleep filled with the joy of a completed workday of coaching on the softball field at Union University, would awake in Glory the next morning on October 24, 2018. For the Glazebrook family this was suffering upon suffering as prior to Rachel's death, they had experienced the loss of relationship with their daughter Mara, and nine children, who have now been estranged for eight years from their entire family, initiated by their son-in-law.

Four years after Rachel's death, their son, Stephan, would be diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, and they would call upon the Lord for mercy once again. This time, the mercy given was the mercy prayed for as God cleared him of cancer post-surgery! Sharon's father has severe Alzheimer’s, Bob lives with chronic AFib, and they live daily with the weight of grief and the presence of suffering. How do they live knowing that they could suffer more and walk in further darkness? They live by God's grace, relying on His Spirit that gives joy in sorrow, beauty from ashes, life from death, and hope in a broken world.
